POSITION SUMMARY

The production supervisor is responsible for supervising shop employees within a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position pro-actively plans and assigns work, continuously implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises shop floor personnel through the manufacturing process.
• Ensures full utilization of equipment, materials, and personnel to achieve maximum output.
• Coordinates with Scheduler/Planner to meet customer demands and ship dates.
• Responsible for training of personnel, safety, general maintenance of plant and machinery, reviews/assessments.
• Processes all production schedule paperwork generated by Planning-Engineering issued to the shop floor.
• Responsible for meeting all key manufacturing metrics, such as Variable Cost of Production (VCP), Product Quality Performance, Cost of Product Quality (COPQ), On Time Delivery (OTD), and Environmental Health Safety and Security metrics.
• Responsible for achieving the year-to-year business plan as a part of the total CECO Global Pump Solutions plan.
• Manages a diverse production workforce consisting of machinists and hand skill employees.
• Manages operating budget; covering wages, shop supplies/tooling, vendors and rendered services.
• Ensure that day-to-day transactions of inventory, factory orders and routings are completed with accuracy.
• Reviews and updates daily time sheets based on planned hours.
• Integrates Customer Service Representatives, application engineering, engineering, project management, manufacturing engineers/supervisors, and operators into a cohesive team.
• Other job duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Production Systems, Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Process Improvement experience; required.
• Pump and motor knowledge; preferred.
• CNC and Manual machining experience; required.
• Production safety, inventory management and manufacturing procedures experience; required.
• 5-10 years or more related Production Supervisor; required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or management; preferred.
