We are looking for a Consultant to join our Performance Improvement department!

The Performance Improvement Consultant is responsible for facilitating complex performance improvement activities and supporting large, cross-functional process improvement teams to achieve the organization's mission and goals and to ensure compliance with accreditation, licensing and regulatory requirements.

The Performance Improvement Consultant supports Performance Improvement Staff in the preparation, facilitation and follow-up of improvement team meetings, compiling and creating graphical displays of data, developing presentations and employing project management skills to ensure goals are achieved within the specified timeframes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Utilizes knowledge and understanding of advanced qualitative and quantitative statistics to synthesize data and extract key insights on human factors.
  • Assures integrity of data sets and data elements through routine and systematic procedures.
  • Develops alternative solutions to overcome data limitations.
  • Applies a broad range of performance improvement tools and methodologies (. Lean and Six Sigma), and problem-solving techniques to identify opportunities for improvement and facilitate change.
  • Supports health system monitoring efforts and management of dashboards.
  • Provides concise reports of activities and results to support decision-making for a variety of performance improvement projects.

Regularly communicates and provides program / project updates to project teams.

Identifies key touch points for stakeholder / organizational communication and communicates verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences internally and externally.

Creates and updates project work plans, prioritizes work, and manages multiple project teams to meet key deliverables, timelines, and budgets.

Proactively identifies potential project barriers and delays, and manages competing priorities and relationships with stakeholders, champions, and executive sponsors to resolve issues.

Quickly acquires subject knowledge expertise by researching best practices and regulatory guidelines from a variety of sources.

Conducts ethnographic research to build a sense of empathy with constituents.

  • Provides consultation and shares expertise with stakeholders / clients across the organization.
  • Conducts just-in-time and planned training (. Safety Fair and NEO) to educate members of interdisciplinary improvement teams on performance improvement methods and tools to enhance their ability to achieve performance improvement goals.

Education :

Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (. statistics, business, science, engineering) is required, a Master's Degree is preferred.

Experience and Skills :

  • Two (2) years of progressive responsibility in the application of process improvement, statistical process control methodologies, and independent facilitation of process improvement teams.
  • Two (2) years of experience in an acute health care setting and knowledge of health care regulations, accreditation, and licensing requirements is preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving skills, and advanced statistics (. linear regression models).
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively and independently.
  • Demonstrates effective communication at all levels of the organization.
