Location: Beaverton, OregonJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $24 - 34 per hourOur client is seeking an innovative and motivated Footwear Materials Developer to join their Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM)! As a Footwear Materials Developer, you will play a critical role in exploring cutting-edge ideas in textiles and print/pattern from trend through technological advancements. Your research and development efforts will directly influence the product creation team, helping deliver the highest level of athlete experience while aligning with our client's key sustainability goals.Responsibilities:Explore new ideas in textiles and prints/patterns, focusing on both knits and wovens.Collaborate with product creation partners to commercialize materials that meet the brand's sustainability objectives.Drive seasonal material development in partnership with vendors and manufacturing teams, from concept to commercialization. This includes requesting tests, tracking progress, and finding creative material solutions.Work specifically on developing materials for soccer/football apparel, ensuring they meet the highest performance standards.Develop materials with an emphasis on knits and wovens.Enter testing results into systems (experience with Smartsheets and Excel is ideal).Work with global vendors to adapt to their needs and manage changing requirements.Manage multiple projects with competing resources and deadlines across multiple seasons.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Textile Science, Apparel, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in lieu of a degree.At least 3 years of apparel industry experience, with a strong knowledge of technical materials including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques.Proficiency in working with knits, wovens, ribs, and print development.Experience partnering with vendors to develop and test materials from inception to production.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Competence in Microsoft Office applications and Product Data Management systems.Ability to manage multiple projects with competing resources and deadlines across multiple seasons.Strong information-seeking skills and a drive to make things happen.Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group, networking, and utilizing internal and external resources.Experience with performance materials and awareness of industry material trends.Ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time.Print development experience is a plus. JOBID: 1053793#LI-CELLA#LI-JB1Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.At Cella, a randstad digital company, we welcome people of all abilities and want to ensure that our hiring and interview process meets the needs of all applicants.
