CELLA is Hiring a Technical Designer (Hybrid) Near Framingham, MA

Location: Framingham, MassachusettsJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $30 - 35 per hourWe are seeking a dedicated Technical Designer to join our global retail client's team based in Framingham, MA!
In this role, you will manage the technical aspects of an apparel category, overseeing the process from design development prototypes to final production approval. Your responsibilities will include leading fit meetings in collaboration with various teams and ensuring that fits meet design aesthetics, quality, and value standards. You will also be expected to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external counterparts.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the lead Sr. Technical Designer and Product Team to develop technical specifications based on design concepts.
  • Work with agents/vendors to ensure all garment specifications meet company standards and brand values.
  • Review and implement design changes and make contingency plans as necessary.
  • Coordinate fit schedules with the PD/Design Team.
  • Lead fit sessions with cross-functional teams and provide recommendations on improving fit, construction, and garment quality, keeping the company's standards and regulations top of mind.
  • Communicate technical fit comments to agents/vendors via written comments, visual images, construction sketches, and provide correct grading and pattern adjustments.
  • Approve fits, pre-production (PP), and top-of-production (TOP) specifications for bulk production.
  • Maintain correspondence with internal teams and overseas vendors.
  • Track, manage, and prioritize workload to help the team meet development and production deadlines.
  • Assist the Sr. Technical Designer/Technical Design Manager in establishing quality control standards and general daily tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Degree in fashion, technical design, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of garment construction.
  • Knowledge and experience with patternmaking preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in technical design.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Word/Excel and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of 3D systems and Flex PLM preferred.
  • Strong detail orientation.
  • Self-motivated team player with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Deadline-driven and committed to quality.
