CEN LLC is Hiring a VP, Underwriting, CPF Near New York, NY

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The VP Underwriting, CPF, ensures that loans are underwritten by the Bank’s internal loan procedures and credit policies. This position provides support to the loan production team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensures loans are in compliance with Credit and Underwriting policies. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

2. Conducts property and loan level due diligence, including review of appraisal reports and other third-party consultant reports. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

3. Performs and summarizes market analysis and sponsors financial analysis. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

4. Creates credit approval memoranda for management and board approvals. This duty is performed quarterly, about 10% of the time.

5. Administers on-site inspections and coordinates with various vendors. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

6. Advises and mentors junior team members and their workload. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

7. Trains junior team members on current and new policies and procedures. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

8. Reviews junior team members’ work and provides corrections. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

9. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.

10. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.

11. Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 7 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry, and trigonometry.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Supervises a small group (1-3) of employees in the same or lower classification. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Five (5) years of commercial credit management experience- Seven (7) years of commercial credit structuring (including complex C and I and CRE structures) experience
- Knowledge of complex fund financials required
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Construction lending, subordinate debt, and historical tax credit analysis experience preferred

Compensation Information: $150,206 - $225,309
