Job Title: Clinical Supervision Consultant

Job Summary:

CASES is currently seeking a Clinical Supervisor Consultant to support the direct services work of staff and enable ongoing progress in professional development. The ideal candidate will provide regularly occurring guidance to our licensed professional staff around challenging assignments and complex clinical matters. CASES’ Supervised Release Program (SRP) annually diverts 5,500 people otherwise facing pretrial detention at Rikers Island to community-based supervision and support services. Program participants include youth and young adults, people with substance use disorders and mental illnesses, and individuals who are homeless. SRP participants have not been found guilty of a crime and are not mandated to engage in treatment or other services. This requires staff to tactfully deliver approaches to help participants tap into their intrinsic motivation to leverage their strengths and skills for meaningful life improvements while fulfilling all court requirements.


Salary:
The hourly rate for the Clinical Supervision Consultant position is $65.


Shift Hours:
The Clinical Supervision Consultant position is part time.

Workplace Flexibility:
CASES offers various work arrangements, where possible for certain roles. The Clinical Supervision Consultant position is part time in person.

What you will be doing:
  • Provide regularly occurring, individual clinical supervision with advanced level clinical staff to provide reliable oversight and collaboration on work with their clients.
  • Facilitate periodic group supervision meetings with supervisors and managers to enable ongoing professional advancement in their specific discipline.
  • Serve as a resource for modeling best clinical practices in the areas of ethics, antiracist practice, cultural competency and trauma-informed care to reinforce positive outcomes for program participants.
  • Communicate gaps in knowledge, poor performance and areas for development with staff to their respective managers to target needs for ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Director and other program managers to identify training needs that relate to the larger division and support the implementation of new learning objectives.
  • Raise staff awareness of available services, pathways to recovery, and help remove barriers to mental health and substance use treatment and service access.
  • Assist staff with skills development that guides less experienced professionals towards a more holistic, client-centered approach to their direct clinical work with program participants.
  • Participate in supervision, case review, staff meetings, and training, as needed, to help develop motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, evidenced-based practices case coordination competencies.
  • Provide supervision responsive to the race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, and criminal legal history of program participants.
What we are looking for:
  • Master's degree in social work or PhD in Psychology.
  • Active Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Psychologist required in New York State.
  • 3-5 years of experience providing individual and group clinical supervision.
  • Knowledge of community-based resources and support services for vulnerable individuals.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to translate goals into action and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Experience with forensic, legal system or field-based mobile treatment teams preferred.
