TWO YEAR OLD TO FIVE YEAR OLD Early Childhood Educators
The Center for Children is looking for enthusiastic, creative, and nurturing educators to join our growing team. We are searching for TWO YEAR OLD TO FIVE YEAR OLD teachers to work in collaboration with our current staff.
The Center for Children is located on the campus of The Vine UMC. We are situated in beautiful, historic Plaza-Midwood, a burgeoning community for work and play.
The Center for Children is full-day daycare for infants to five-year olds.
Job Description
● Create an enthusiastic and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
● Plan and implement a curriculum that supports children’s educational and social development.
● Present a welcoming attitude towards prospective and current families.
● Engage families in conversations about their child's educational development and daily experiences.
● Serve as an ambassador for the Center for Children and our many offerings.
● Attend licensed day care teacher training, staff meetings, and other professional development initiatives as required.
● Use only positive early childhood guidance strategies to instruct children.
● Implement the Center for Children's curriculum in a way that meets each child's unique learning style.
● Remain aware of all surroundings in and outside the daycare and report or correct unsafe conditions promptly.
● Comply with state licensing and accreditation regulations for childcare centers.
Requirements:
● Child Development Associate required; advanced degrees preferred.
● At least 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare center.
● State criminal background check required.
● Must be 21 years of age or older.
● Must be able to adapt to continuously changing, fast-paced childcare center environment, and make the children's needs their primary focus.
● Must be able to fully engage in physical activity. Must be able to kneel, stoop, squat, and stand for a long time, and demonstrate and engage in activities like jumping, dancing, walking, and running.
● The ability to lift up to 30 pounds is also required.
● Work is primarily performed at the childcare center. Daily outdoor work is required but work is otherwise indoors. Work is sometimes performed off-site for field trips.
● Must be able to see and hear well enough to monitor classrooms and playgrounds to keep children safe at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
