The Center for Human Development is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced professional to serve as Staff Accountant-Cash Management in fiscal department.
Responsibilities include all aspects of the Accounting (Fiscal Services) department for a large multi-faceted Agency serving people in need of human services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Builds a working relationship with Agency Program Directors, Fund Raising Team and Banking Representatives relative to accounting and cash management functions
Functions/Objectives:
Supports development and documentation of financial transaction processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Prepares error-free monthly financial reports as well as periodic reports on financial performance to inform strategic decision making process
- Performs research and analysis, maintains the general ledger, and performs account reconciliations
- Assists with external audit, tax returns and governmental reports preparation
- Makes recommendations based on analysis of status of reserves, accrual and contingencies
- Assists divisional and executive leaders with interpreting financial information
- Maintains customer/colleague confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and minimum of 2 years direct experience;
Direct financial experience in non-profit human services organization preferred but not required.
