The Center for Women and Families – Contract Therapist

The Center for Women and Families is looking for compassionate, trauma-informed professionals who are dedicated to empowering survivors and their families. The Contract Child & Family Therapist plays a vital role in helping to achieve our vision of thriving survivors in safe communities.
The Center for Women and Families provides free services to people of all identities who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of trauma by reducing risk factors and building resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.
The Contract Child & Family Therapist is responsible for providing individual, group, and family therapy services to adults and children affected by intimate partner violence and sexual assault. This role involves crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, and case management in collaboration with internal and external teams.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group therapy for adults, children, and families.
- Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of client needs.
- Offer follow-up support outside of therapy sessions as part of case planning.
- Engage in crisis response, including safety assessments, de-escalation, and referrals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency and state guidelines.
- Provide consultation and advocacy within The Center and in collaboration with community partners.
- Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and supervision.
- Support The Center’s training programs by developing and delivering educational sessions.
- Ensure all services are culturally humble, anti-oppressive, and inclusive.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensure required (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LPCC, or equivalent under Kentucky law).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing therapy services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention strategies.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and electronic client database systems.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and ethical therapy practices.
- Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
