Centers for New Horizons is Hiring a Resident Services Coordinator (Temporary) Near Chicago, IL

Position Title: Resident Services Coordinator (Temporary)

Department: Adult and FamilyWorks

Reports to: Site Manager

Position Description

The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) is responsible for planning and coordinating senior focused events for the CHA Resident Services Division. The RSC must be knowledgeable of the service needs of the senior citizen/elderly population in order to coordinate senior services for the Contractor.

*****This is a temporary position. For an anticipated period of 3 months beginning 9/04/24 and ending 12/31/2024. Due to the temporary nature of this work, this is not a benefit-eligible position.*****

Essential Function

  • Responsible for planning and coordinating senior/ elderly focused events and activities
  • Coordinates senior/ elderly services activities with CHA’s Resident Services Division
  • Knowledgeable of the service needs of the senior citizen/elderly population in order to coordinate senior services for the Contractor
  • Attends monthly senior liaison meetings
  • Compile reports, participates in data collection
  • Independently follows agency policy and procedures
  • Complete any other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned and required
  • Follows through with commitments including meeting established timelines
  • Identifies and resolves difficult issues

Essential Responsibilities: Workplace attendance and participation

  • Attend regularly; dependable coming to work as scheduled
  • Report absences within department procedures
  • Attend and participate in required meetings (i.e., all-agency meetings, department/program meetings, supervisor meetings, etc.)
  • Successfully complete all in-service training required for the position within timelines and participate in other training, as assigned
  • Manage work time to meet needs of internal and external customers, stakeholders and individuals receiving services
  • Expands knowledge of departmental/agency operations
  • Participates in performance review and personal/professional growth
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.
  • Thorough knowledge of customer service, office practices, procedures and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, Access, Power Point and other computer software packages.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone
  • Must be able to work in and independent manner.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Flexible and creative. Patience and compassion for consumers.
  • Ability to work with co-workers, customers, and outside agencies professionally and tactfully while exhibiting a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a closely related field from an accredited college preferred with a concentration in Geriatrics or a combination of college course work and related previous work experience, preferably in a nonprofit agency. Additionally, familiarity with the Department of Aging or Senior Programing.
