Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized, motivated and detail-oriented individual to round out our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with all regulations, assisting with inventory management, and managing our equipment. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about animal care and has a strong background in administrative management within a veterinary or medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regulation Compliance:
• Ensure the hospital is in full compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations including the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine and the American Animal Hospital Association.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of veterinary laws and standards.
• Prepare for and assist with inspections and audits.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
• Inventory Management Assistance:
• Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals including timely disposal of expiring pharmaceuticals.
• Stock inventory shipments and accurately enter all inventory invoices into practice managment software.
• Track inventory usage and adjust orders to minimize waste and shortages.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies.
• Equipment Management:
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of hospital equipment.
• Schedule regular inspections and servicing of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage equipment inventory and ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors for the purchase or leasing of new equipment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a veterinary management role.
• Strong understanding of veterinary regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for animal care and welfare.
• A strong candidate would also have proficiency in Cornerstone software, proficiency with CUBEX and a valid Virginia Veterinary Technician license.
