EmPATH is a dedicated healing environment separate from the emergency department, staffed with a multidisciplinary psychiatric team providing Emergency, Psychiatric, Assessment, Treatment, and Healing to those initially presenting to emergency rooms with mental health urgencies.

The Behavioral Health Observation RN will also appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with our EmPATH team and various community partners involved in developing Community Treatment plans.POSITION

• Part-time – benefit eligible!
• 48 hours every two weeks
• 12-hour straight night position (7 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.)
• Includes working every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holiday rotation

EDUCATION

• Graduate from a nursing program required. Bachelors or Masters in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Nursing must be obtained within three years.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota required.
• 4 years minimum experience as a psychiatric or chemical dependency registered nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider card. 
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) initial and on-going training (or equivalent) provided.
• American Nurses Association (ANA) Psychiatric – Mental Health Certification preferred.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of at least the following areas: abuse issues, chemical dependency, adult/adolescent/child clinical assessments. 
• Knowledge of crisis theory and intervention, psychiatric diagnosis, psychotropic medications, including use and side effects and knowledge of community resources and intervention. 

Hiring bonus requirements: To be eligible for the hiring bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full time or part time benefited position. Previous employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare/Carris for at least 9 months at the date of hire. Relocation assistance bonus requirements: Must accept a position that offers benefits and may not have worked for CentraCare/Carris in the last 9 months. Must currently reside more than 50 miles away from St. Cloud Hospital and relocate to within 30 miles of it. CentraCare hiring incentives to include but not limited to, sign-on and relocation bonuses may be discontinued at any time.
