Luna Park In Coney Island is actively recruiting for an Assistant Operations Manager- Park Services.

About Us:

Central Amusement International Inc. (CAI) is an amusement park development and management company located in New York City. In 2003, CAI developed Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink in Central Park, and in 2010 developed Luna Park in Coney Island, at the site of the birthplace of the amusement industry. CAI is part of the Zamperla Group, which is the worldwide leader in the manufacturing of amusement rides. 

We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager-Park Services to join our dynamic team at Luna Park in Coney Island. As part of the Park Services Department, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, landscaping, and functionality of our park facilities, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. 

Summary:

 • Assist in managing day-to-day operations within the Park Services Department of the amusement park, including landscaping and cleaning tasks.

• Oversee the cleanliness, landscaping, and maintenance of park facilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for guests.

• Coordinate with park management and other departments to implement effective operational strategies, including cost-efficient product purchases for park maintenance.

• Supervise a team of park service staff, including porters and parks department personnel, to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, providing leadership and guidance as needed.

• Contribute to the overall guest experience by upholding high standards of cleanliness, landscaping, and service throughout the park and effectively communicating with departments about cleaning days.

Location: Luna Park in Coney Island, 1000 Surf Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11224

Responsibilities:
• Supervise park service staff, including porters and parks department personnel, to ensure the cleanliness, landscaping, and maintenance of park facilities, including restrooms, walkways, and common areas.

• Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures to optimize efficiency and guest satisfaction, including effective and cost-efficient product purchases for park maintenance.

• Coordinate with other departments, such as facilities management and guest services, to address maintenance issues and enhance the overall guest experience through landscaping and cleanliness.

• Conduct regular inspections of park grounds and facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.

• Provide leadership and support to park service staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management, to maintain a high level of professionalism and service excellence, while effectively communicating with departments about cleaning days. 

 • Lead by example for the Team and Company. 

 • Oversee payroll and ensure that all staff are paid correctly, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes. 

 • Develop and implement training programs for all park services team members. This training should cover all aspects of park services operations, including safety, customer service, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in park management, landscaping, or related field preferred
  • 3 years of experience in a management role in the park services, landscaping, cleaning industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with park management, departments, and staff.
  • Knowledge of effective operational strategies and cost-efficient product purchasing for park maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, landscaping, and service throughout the park.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to conduct regular inspections and identify areas for improvement.
  • Familiarity with safety and cleanliness standards in amusement park environments.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed especially working outdoors.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences and ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
