LIBRARY SAFETY OFFICER – The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time (40 hrs/week) library safety officer to work at the Main Library campus. The candidate should be outgoing, friendly, team-oriented, and enjoy working with all ages and have a customer service-oriented approach to public safety while working in a diverse and inclusive environment. Experience working with marginalized communities a plus. Essential duties include working closely with library staff to solve challenges throughout the day and help diffuse various situations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner. Additional responsibilities include assisting patrons with information and assisting staff with public safety concerns. Must be able to stand, walk for extended periods of time, work indoors and outdoors. Some computer experience is required and must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Spanish language skills a plus, but not required. Applicants must be available to work some evenings and Saturdays. Pay starts at $16.11 and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave and holiday pay.
