Central Bank is Hiring a Direct Endorsement Underwriter Near Sioux Falls, SD
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Loan Underwriting 85%
- Process, underwrite, evaluate, and analyze mortgage loans submitted through the Encompass system carefully and efficiently while following bank, VA, FHA, and other relevant guidelines.
- Assess all calculations and documentation for accuracy, and analyze income or tax documents to make sure mortgage loan applications meet compliance standards and follow program guidelines.
- Make sound underwriting decisions based on the analysis of financial information, credit reports, and other relevant factors.
- Maintain accuracy when using automated and manual systems for underwriting loans.
- Exercise discretion and use analytical skills to find inconsistencies in information or documentation and prevent fraud.
- Assist the sales team to structure appealing loan packages.
- Consult with the accounting team to ensure applicants meet the conditions for underwriting before closing a loan.
- Communicate loan decisions in writing and verbally using the bank-approved format.
- Respond to audits and quality control reviews.
- Attend and participate in regular departmental.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in similar job duties
- Underwriting Certification preferred
