Central Boston Elder Services is a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping Boston area seniors remain in their homes by providing short and long-term care. Our programs and services are designed to promote self-sufficiency and are available to residents in several Boston neighborhoods. We have been serving seniors since 1974, offering extensive in-home services including personal care and home-delivered meals. Eligibility for our services is based on a sliding scale, ensuring that most Boston residents can receive assistance at little or no charge. Central Boston Elder Services is funded by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs and relies on private donations and foundations. We are professionally staffed, managed, and governed by an elected board of elders and healthcare professionals.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Registered Nurse at Central Boston Elder Services. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing elders and disabled consumers in their home settings. You will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans which keep elders and disabled living safely at home. While the role is primarily located in Boston, MA, there is flexibility for some remote work.
Qualifications
- Valid and active Registered Nurse license
- 2 years experience in home healthcare or geriatric nursing
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
