Central Care Cancer Center is Hiring a Scribe/Medical Assistant Near Garden, KS
As a Scribe/MA you will work directly with the Oncologist, playing a critical role in ensuring accurate documentation and smooth patient appointments. You will prepare patient charts, document patient encounters, assist the oncologist during appointments, and communicate effectively with the oncology team.
- Prepare patient charts before each appointment, ensuring all necessary items are entered.
- Document all labs and diagnostics performed since the previous visit, including PET scans, ultrasounds, CT scans etc.
- Revise the physical exam under direction of the oncologist.
- Document the entire encounter between the oncologist and the patient, including patient complaints, reason for the visit, changes in the physical exam.
- Update all information in the plan under direction of the oncologist.
- Communicate with other members of the oncology team as needed through orders and chart messages.
- Place orders needed before the next patient visit and add new diagnostic codes related to new orders.
- Assist with physician schedule and daily flow, preparing all notes and documentation for oncologist review.
- CNA/CMA experience preferred
- Typing speed of at least 50 wpm
- Communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to communicate effectively with multiple people on a daily basis including but not limited to physicians, hospital personnel, insurance providers, patients etc.
- Demonstrate high attention to detail and excellent organization skills
- Ability to learn various systems and software related to billing and insurance
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management skills
- No late nights or weekends 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday schedule
