Central Counties Center For Mental is Hiring a Human Resources Specialist 1 - 1741 Near Temple, TX

Part-Time - 24 Hours Per Week

Minimum Starting Hourly Rate: $17.30/hr

Maximum Starting Hourly Rate - Dependent on Qualifications

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs entry-level human resources management work. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets visitors to the department and answers and directs department calls to appropriate staff.
  • Answers basic questions and resolves routine issues related to human resources processes.
  • Enters, updates, and retrieves information from various automated, human resources, and/or payroll systems.
  • Files documents and maintains files and records.
  • May assist in processing personnel actions and reviewing completed personnel actions to ensure conformity with agency policies and mandated regulations.
  • May assist in posting job vacancies and receiving employment applications.
  • Assist in preparing, editing, and distributing correspondence.
  • May assist in organizing and scheduling interviews, training classes, and new hire orientation sessions.
  • Files documents and maintains files and records.
  • Work with divisions during audit to provide requested documentation.
  • Assists the HR Department with projects.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 work day or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of program’s processes.
  • Professional Development - Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures. Complete continuing education in a timely fashion as required by professional standards and the Center.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience and Education

  • Experience in clerical work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Six Months experience in human resources or clerical work preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of office procedures; of spelling, punctuation, and grammar; of business or program terminology, methods, and procedures; and of records administration and maintenance techniques and procedures.

Additional Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Regular attendance and reliability is critical to business operations.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, postage machines, and fax machines.

Travel

  • May require travel on rare occasions. (i.e. to other Center locations)
