Central Florida Health Alliance is Hiring a Pharmacy Resident Near Leesburg, FL

Job Opening Summary

The person in this position participates in the Pharmacy Practice Residency Program, a 12-month, full-time program that meets the ASHP accreditation standard. The resident is motivated and committed to the completion of the educational goals and objectives of the residency program and to the mission and values of UF Health Leesburg. The resident also serves the following essential functions: providing service and guidance consistent with the mission and vision of the UF Health Leesburg Department of Pharmacy Services and the Clinical Pharmacy Team; developing and demonstrating competency in all aspects of health-system pharmacy practice, including pharmacotherapy, patient care, distributive services, drug information, formulary evaluation, policy development and practice management; completing one or more outcome-oriented projects; during clinical practice experiences, demonstrating the ability to plan, organize, execute and monitor pharmaceutical care plans designed to improve the quality of patient care while effectively utilizing resources; performing verbal and written communication through pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetic and nutritional support consultations for physicians and other health care providers; providing pharmacists and pharmacy students with clinical education and training congruent with core competencies and educational objectives; during practice management experiences, demonstrating the ability to identify problems, make judgments, communicate effectively and assume responsibility for the use of medications and the medication delivery system; demonstrating an understanding of the characteristics of the pharmacy workload, human resource management and the application of automated medication distribution systems; organizing and maintaining appropriate documentation of clinical and practice management activities for purposes of pharmacy management and hospital accreditation; observing and/or participating on UF Health Leesburg multidisciplinary committees, such as the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee; collaborating with health care professionals to ensure safe medication use; modifying performance and behavior based on evaluation and self-assessment; participating in department huddles, multidisciplinary communication and nursing support; and participating in the pharmacy resident recruitment and selection processes.

Job Opening Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate from an ACPE-accredited doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) program

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Licensed to work as a registered pharmacist in the state of Florida no later than ninety (90) days after the start of the residency year, or the resident may be terminated from employment.

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:

  • Must be able to read, write in, speak and understand English.
  • Citizen of the U.S.A. or hold a visa allowing for the completion of the residency year (UF Health Leesburg cannot sponsor your visa).
  • Must desire to be a highly motivated pharmacist wanting advanced education and training that lead to an enhanced level of professional pharmacy practice.
