Central Maine Audiology is Hiring a Patient Care Coordinator Near Lewiston, ME

Position Title: Patient Care Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

Central Maine Audiology is looking for an energetic Patient Care Coordinator with exceptional customer service skills. The person we seek will thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include greeting patients, answering the phone, scheduling appointments, and interacting with other employees to ensure outstanding customer service is delivered to every one of our patients and their families. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Customer Service

  • Opens the office and ensures the front office is in order.
  • Retrieves phone messages and prioritizes return phone calls.
  • Greets and assists/directs patients who come to the practice.
  • Answers incoming calls and guides patients to the appropriate service.
  • Collects and documents demographic information, including new patient information, insurance information, and HIPAA information for all patients.
  • Schedules appointments in accordance with block schedule.
  • Prepares database letters and outbound calling to patient database for follow up appointments.
  • Confirms appointments.
  • Tracks referral source for all patients.
  • Mails supplies to patients as requested.
  • Enters invoices into system, and collects and records payments.
  • Disinfects patient touch surfaces in between appointments.

Miscellaneous duties

  • Assists patients with exchanges or returns as needed.
  • Maintains an attractive and welcoming office environment.
  • Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed.
  • Establishes and maintains good public relations.
  • Practices good safety and infection control protocols.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequently requires using hands, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing and walking during the day.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • The work environment is generally quiet, with moderate noise from phones and other business office machines.

Skills

  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, including printers and fax machines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word and Excel).
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • High School degree or equivalent; Associates Degree or some college is preferred.

Pay: $17-$19 per hour, depending on experience
