What are the responsibilities and job description for the DME/Customer Service Representative position at Central Peninsula General Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY: The DME Customer Service Representative (CSR) utilizes superior customer service and critical thinking skills to assist customers and referral sources with processing and obtaining home medical equipment and supplies. This position will be responsible for initiating and maintaining client interface through multiple contacts to ensure patient understanding and treatment modality and user compliance. Collaborates and communicates with providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes and ensures all documentation is accurate, complete and current. Maintains data entry into DME software and EMR. Maintains customer and provider relations through timely follow-up and phone calls. Basic understanding of insurance coverage for DME and ability to articulate this information to patients. Coordinates follow up and scheduling appointments in EMR. Functions as a backup in to the front desk if needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- HIgh School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of medical services experience.
- BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent customer service skills.
PREFERRED:
- College Level Coursework in Respiratory Therapy
- 2 years of DME/sleep lab experience.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
CPH offers competitive pay and benefits including health insurance, retirement, paid time off and many more! Starting pay is 27.02/hr - $30.89/hr depending on experience. Additional compensation is also available for qualifying night and weekend shifts.
