Central States is Hiring a Drafting Checker Near Villa Rica, GA
The Drafting Checker checks Elevate Structures' Permit Set, Approval Set, and/or Field Use Revit Drawings to ensure that the Revit drawings (a) meet all technical specifications, (b) conforms to materials and dimension specified within the architectural drawings, external engineer of record drawings, and/or from order clarity provided by Pre-Construction Project Manager, as applicable, and (c) are in compliance with company standards. The Drafting Checker will also coordinate with Drafter to identify technical issues, suggest solutions, and provide Redline comments. The Drafting Checker will ensure that each drawing or draft provides a complete list of specifications to prevent problems during construction. Specific responsibilities include:
Participate in a Job kick-off meeting with Drafting Supervisor and Senior Engineer
Lead Job hand-off meeting for Drafter and provide all project notes and documents to Drafter
Monitor the progress of Drafter and provide updates to the Squad Leader
Receive and Coordinate RFIs from Drafters until resolved
Respond to RFIs of which the Checker has knowledge
Provide RFI of which the Checker does not have knowledge to Squad Leader for further information
Actively follow up on unanswered RFIs with Squad Leader until resolved
Receive and Coordinate Customer Revisions from Pre-Construction until resolved
Only process Customer Revisions after receiving a release from Pre-Construction
Review Customer Revisions for compliance with company standards
If Customer Revision is not within company standards follow the RFI process above
If Customer Revision is within company standards, communicate and ensure Drafter properly incorporates Customer Revision
Actively follow up on incomplete Customer Revisions with Squad Leader until resolved
Check Storage Structures' Permit Set and/or Approval Set until approved
Check all aspects of drawings for accuracy and compliance with company standards
Complete the Checker Checklist form
Provided Drafter with detailed Redlines and instructions to correct drawings
Provide Drafter with Engineer and Customer Redlines and instructions to correct drawings
Actively follow up on all Redlines until resolved
Prepare Field Use Revit Drawings (if assigned)
Insert all required field use details as required by company policy
Receive and clear Redlines from Senior Engineer
Update Drawings for Redlines/Clarifications from the Director of Construction during the procurement of Materials
Prepare Revit drawing/detail from Hand Sketch provided by the Director of Construction for field fixes.
As appropriate, provide new details / unusual conditions to Senior Checker to determine if the detail should be incorporated into the detail library
Other Assistance
Assist the Vice President of Engineering and Drafting or Drafting Manager in ad hoc requirements as necessary to advance the overall objectives of the company and Drafting Department.

Proactive requesting and follow up on outstanding inquiries (Same Day send out; 48 hours check back)
98% accuracy on drawings
98% delivery of shop drawings by the planned operation date

Actively participate in daily training / watch recordings if you miss/ask questions if you don't understand

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree
Experience may be accepted in lieu of education or formal certifications.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of (5) years of experience as a Drafter and/or Checker
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of heavy structural and light gauge steel building designs, means, and methods.
Excellent command of drawing review tools and technics.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to investigate problems or potential problems to avoid reoccurrence.
Proficient in Revit, BlueBeam, Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to communicate at numerous levels internal and external to the company.
Excellence in oral and written communication in English.
