Our client, N Street Village, is hiring a Clinical Director, Behavioral Health Services!
About N Street Village
N Street Village is a community of empowerment and recovery for homeless and low-income women in Washington, DC. With comprehensive services addressing both emergency and long-term needs, N Street Village helps women achieve stability and make meaningful gains in their housing, income, employment, mental health, physical health, and addiction recovery. N Street Village also provides affordable rental housing for low and moderate-income individuals and families.
Position Summary
The Clinical Director, Behavioral Health Services (CD-BHS) will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive mental health and substance use services to women within N Street Village. You will lead a team of dedicated professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care to meet the unique needs of the clients we serve.
Key Responsibilities
•Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical oversight and leadership to a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatric nurses, social workers, case managers, and interns.
•Program Development: Develop and implement innovative behavioral health programs tailored to the needs of unhoused women, including trauma-informed therapy, substance abuse treatment, and support groups.
•Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance on best practices in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders.
•Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of behavioral health services.
•Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments within the organization, as well as external partners and community agencies, to coordinate comprehensive care and support services for clients.
•Training and Education: Facilitate training sessions and workshops for staff members on topics such as trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and cultural competency. Facilitate treatment meetings and client case consultations.
•Clinical Assessment: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients, incorporating their unique strengths, needs, and preferences.
•Crisis Management: Provide clinical support and guidance in managing crisis situations, including suicide risk assessments and safety planning.
•Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data on program outcomes and client satisfaction to inform programmatic improvements and strategic planning. Conduct audits of HMIS and HTH to ensure documentation is clinically sound.
•Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of homeless women with mental health issues at the local, state, and national levels, raising awareness and mobilizing support for policy changes and funding initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
•Master's Degree in Social Work, psychology, counseling or a related field; must be a Licensed at the highest level within the discipline.
•Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a focus on one of the following areas: mental health, physical health, addictions, aging, trauma
•Minimum of 3 years of supervising staff.
•Knowledge of DC social services resources and compliance requirements
Skills and Competencies
•Strong cultural competence, including excellent interactions and communication ability with a diverse population
•Mature abilities in developing interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution
•Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
•Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn a database system
•Ability to work independently
