Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe is Hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant Near El Paso, TX
Works under the direct supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. Assists in implementation of various physical therapy treatments and related duties as designed by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist in implementing and carrying out physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, including exercises, stretches, and therapeutic activities to improve patients' mobility and alleviate pain
- Maintains accurate and detailed records of patient progress, treatment interventions, and any observed changes.
- Identifies and provides appropriate strategies to educate patients so that environmental constraints, learning barriers, and cultural factors are addressed effectively.
- Prepares reports for the supervising physical therapist to aid in ongoing assessment and adjustment of treatment plans.
- Collaborates closely with the physical therapist and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Offers guidance and support to patients during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and positive therapeutic environment.
- Documents treatments, responses and progress in patient’s charts.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety and infection control policies and protocols.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of the theory and methods of physical therapy and their application.
- Skill in modifying and constructing adaptive equipment and devices.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in unusual or stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan and organize community events promoting health promotion/disease prevention.
- Ability to work effectively with local, state and national organizations.
- Ability to represent La Fe in public functions, presentations, organizations, etc.
- Ability to relate well to persons of all ages and cultures.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds minimum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use auditory/tactile/visual senses to evaluate physical, physiological signs
- Ability to perform the motor skills listed below.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Associate’s degree from an approved and accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- State of Texas licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant.
- CPR Certified.
- One or two years of related experience and/or training preferred.
