JOB SUMMARY:We are searching for our next SUPER STAR ! As the Building Maintenance you will be responsible for performing any/all general maintenance and repairs to Centro del Barrio’s buildings. Completes or delegates work orders for tasks at designated sites.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Makes necessary repairs to plumbing and air conditioning systems. Arrange for outsourcing repair work when necessary.
  • Performs minor painting, minor repairs, minor carpentry and other wood projects.
  • Moves furniture as required.
  • Maintains maintenance schedules as directed by clinic director.
  • Performs general maintenance and repairs at all buildings which may include, but not limited to floor work, tile and carpet, repair of broken windows and glass, replacement of light fixtures, walls, and changing/washing filters.
  • Performs routine safety checks on equipment.
  • Assists with general janitorial duties and general maintenance of grounds.
  • Assists in maintaining an inventory of janitorial supplies on hand and request supplies accordingly.
  • Arranges for purchase of all material, equipment, and supplies needed for genera maintenance of buildings.
  • Drives and maintains agency vehicle, for the purpose of moving furniture or other items as necessary, and for the purpose of the transport of maintenance tools and equipment as needed.
  • Inspect, and check all fire extinguishers for any signs of damage, corrosion, or other issues that may compromise the extinguisher’s performance.
  • Maintains vehicle’s maintenance schedule.
  • Abides by infection control policies and procedures as indicated in the Centro del Barrio’s Infection Control Manual.
  • Abides by policies and procedures on hazardous materials as dictated in the Employee Safety Handbook.
  • Participates in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program.
  • Abides by all safety policies as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 Years in general maintenance, painting & repairs.
Requirements:
  • This is a service-oriented position and always requires a strong service-orientation in all interactions with employees.
  • Effectively models problem-solving and organizational skills to aid in the resolution of issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions while working with limited supervision.
  • Moderate understanding of architecture, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Be organized, detail oriented, and adapt to expanding workloads.
  • Be able to organize time and tasks effectively and complete projects timely.
  • Must have working knowledge of maintenance methods and equipment across all disciplines.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, prevent accidents, operate equipment safely, in accordance with OSHA Standards.
  • Compliance with OSHA standards
  • Must have basic handheld and power tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position.
  • Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to deliver excellent customer service, externally and internally.
