Duration: 14 Weeks Contract
Guarantee: 35
Payrate: $67/hourly
Days: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat
Job Summary: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide rehabilitative services to individuals with physical, developmental, or emotional challenges. The COTA assists in implementing treatment plans, conducting therapeutic activities, and documenting client progress to support their functional independence and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in evaluating clients' functional abilities, strengths, and limitations through assessments and observations.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to clients' goals and needs.
- Implement therapeutic interventions and activities outlined in treatment plans to improve clients' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
- Provide hands-on assistance and guidance to clients during therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and adaptive equipment usage.
- Monitor and document clients' progress, response to treatment, and any changes in status to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
- Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
