Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist

Overview: A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) assists in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. They ensure the operating room is prepared, sterile instruments are ready, and patients are properly positioned. CSTs also assist during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies to surgeons, maintaining a sterile field, and monitoring patient vital signs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgeries by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ensure sterility of the surgical area throughout the procedure.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
• Monitor and maintain supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond accordingly.
• Assist in patient positioning and preparation.
• Maintain accurate medical records of procedures.

Requirements:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• CPR certification.
• Strong communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• Typically works in hospitals, surgical centers, or outpatient clinics.
• May work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on surgical schedules.
