Position: RN - Cath Lab - Travel
Pay Rate: $80/hr
Location: Newton, NJ, 07860
Shift: 7 am-5 pm, On-call required. Minimum 1 shift per week and weekend rotations

Duties:

1. Assessment Skills: Competent knowledge of all normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric. Performs thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate assessments.
2. Clinical Skills: Demonstrates competent clinical skills. Provides appropriate nursing care to the unit's population. Demonstrates knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
3. Documentation: Maintains complete and accurate documentation according to guidelines. Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient's progress in the chart.
4. Professionalism: Demonstrates professional practice responsibility, knowledge of policies and procedures, and identifies areas for clinical and professional growth.
5. Patient Satisfaction: Responds to patients/families and co-workers professionally, courteously, and positively. Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
6. Safety: Follows National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol. Demonstrates safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self and patients.
7. Unit Specific Job Function: Demonstrates knowledge of conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients. Individualizes patient care according to procedure and anesthesia type.
8. Responsibility and Accountability: Assumes responsibility and accountability for directing patient care, prioritizing based on patient needs and condition changes.
9. Patient Education and Chart Completion: Assesses patient understanding of surgical procedure/instructions, involves patients and family members in teaching. Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
10. Duties Specific to PAT RN: Supports completion of patient testing in a timely manner. Evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and potential omissions.

Physical Requirements: As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS

Skills Required:

• 2 years critical care experience
• RN License
• BLS
• ACLS

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
