Assistant Project Manager (multifamily construction)

As an Assistant Project Manager with our client, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and execution of construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of construction processes and project management principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning:

• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Identify and procure necessary resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.

Project Execution:

• Oversee all aspects of project execution, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Monitor project progress and performance, and implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.

Client Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and budgetary concerns.
• Address client questions, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and obstacles to project success, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, and budget.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, motivate, and mentor project teams to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and innovation.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, Procore, Microsoft Project).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage competing priorities effectively.
