Department: SCM
Immediate Supervisor: SCM Manager
Nearest subordinate: Shared Service Staff
Deputy: N/A
General Purpose
With minimal supervision, purchase items, materials or services of a technical nature customized to company specification and delivery requirements. Expedite work, vendors, and may locate/promote new vendor sources.
[Job Description]
- Purchase and expedite for timely delivery of material parts and services as required
- Vendor selection may include visiting vendor facilities
- Confer with other departments as needed for technical assistance in resolving purchasing issues
- Evaluate invoice charges as required
- Coordinate purchasing related activities involving routing, shipping and receiving of parts and materials
- Maintain appropriate records including encumbrance and company owned tooling stored or used by vendors
Knowledge and Skills Desired
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or equivalent education is required
- Proficient/Advanced skills with MS Excel and ERP (SAP)
- 1-3 years’ experience as a buyer for a manufacturing company
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Understanding SOX requirements and internal controls
- Strong attention to detail
- Consistently able to meet reporting deadlines
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Strict work ethic
- Strong leadership skills
- Language skill is most preferred, communicating with customers
- Bilingual in Chinese / Mandarin or Korean prefer
