The Accountant I position supports the Bank, Holding Company, and Accounting department. This position is responsible for assisting with financial reporting and related regulatory filings.
Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Provide support as needed on various daily work and projects, including but not limited to daily cash management and financial reporting.
Assist with budget and variance analysis, financial, management, and regulatory reporting.
Gather, compile, and analyze complex financial data for the Bank, the Holding Company (HC), and other related entities through the use of various systems and resources including but not limited to general ledgers, financial statements, warehousing and reporting software, and other operating systems.
Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
Support lines of business through partnership, reporting, and driving business results.
Assist as needed in company financial reporting and management, including SEC Filing.
Reconcile the G/L to the sub-ledger reports to ensure accurate reporting in the financial statements for the Bank, the Holding Co., the Mortgage Division, and any other entities as needed, researching outages, errors, and corrections to appropriate staff as well as posting accrual, prepaid, and month-end entries.
Compile various reports by reconciling data, including but not limited to Regulatory Schedules, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, commitments and contingencies, loan data, and other informational reports and schedules as needed.
Report organizational finances to upper management.
Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting, including data queries as required.
Comply with internal security policies and procedures and maintain customer confidentiality at all times.
Adhere to all regulations, policies, and record-keeping requirements. Complete all required training related to bank regulations and policies.
Accept other responsibilities and projects as requested to add value for CFBank.
Education and Experience
Accounting or a closely related degree with a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and capability to learn new computer software systems required.
Public accounting and/or financial institution accounting experience preferred.
