We are seeking a compassionate and driven individual to fill the role of Community Director. This position plays a crucial part in fostering a strong and supportive community by developing and implementing programs that promote social and public health. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading community outreach initiatives, managing volunteers, and creating educational content. The ideal candidate will have a background in social work, public health, or a related field, and will be able to effectively utilize their administrative skills to drive the success of our community programs.
Duties:
- Develop and implement community outreach programs that promote social and public health
- Furthers a public health approach to prevention
- Create and distribute educational content to the community, including social media posts and educational materials
- Collaborate with partner agencies to identify areas of need and develop programs to address these needs
- Oversee program development and implementation, ensuring that all programs align with the organization's mission and goals
- Develop and manage budgets for community programs
- Engage with the community through social media, events, and other outreach efforts
- Provide administrative support to the organization, including maintaining records and reports
- Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and partners
- Provide educational content and resources to the community
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement
Experience:
- Master's Degree preferred and 2 years of experience in social work, public health, or a related field
- Proven experience in program development and management
- Experience with volunteer management and fundraising
- Strong administrative skills, including budget management and record-keeping
- Experience with social media management and content creation
- Experience with educating and engaging with the community
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
- Strong knowledge of social and public health issues
- Strong understanding of community outreach and engagement strategies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel to community events and meetings
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
