Senior AWS DevOps Engineer
Position Description
We are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our CGI team in Sacramento, CA! This is a client facing full-time career opportunity to work on a highly visible transformation (Infrastructure services) projects for one of our long-standing government clients!
This position is located in our Sacramento, CA office with work performed at client site in Roseville, CA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to be at the client site 2-3 days per week.

Your future duties and responsibilities
How you'll make an impact
This opportunity applies deep technical expertise to the design, implementation, testing, and ongoing support of CGI's DevOps tool chain, and serves as an expert CI/CD and cloud platform technologies.
Designs, implements, and manages scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, and others
Automates infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or CircleCI
Integrate automated testing, security scanning, and other quality gates into the CI/CD pipelines
Collaborates with developers, operations personnel, and security teams to ensure smooth deployments and efficient cloud operations
Provides technical support and troubleshooting for AWS infrastructure and deployment issues
Implements security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA)
Secures cloud environments by implementing IAM roles, access controls, and security best practices
Develops and documents operational procedures and runbooks for efficient incident response
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
What you'll bring
5 years of experience as a AWS DevOps Engineer
Proven experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of CI/CD principles and automation tools
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash)
Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes - a plus)
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
AWS DevOps Engineer certification, AWS SysOps Administrator Certification or equivalent AWS Cloud Engineering/Architecture experience
Ability to mentor other team members in areas of technical expertise
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
3-5 years of System Administration experience
3-5 years of Weblogic Application Server Administration experience
3-5 years of experience working in an outsourced/managed services environment
Strong understanding of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, Solarwinds)
