Job Summary:
  • Human Resources Generalist performs administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
Job Duties:
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
  • Assists with ongoing and year end reports.
  • Ensures compliance with legal and corporate guidelines.
  • Must be familiar with federal and state regulations.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Support the recruitment process by screening resumes/applications and coordinating interviews with hiring managers.
  • Assist with recruitment events that requires work schedule flexibility.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee files, records, documentation and accurately entering data.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Assists with employee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, auditing invoices, and terminations.
  • May assist with payroll functions including answering employee questions, correcting timesheets, fixing errors, updating compensation through multiple programs.
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning of special events such as benefits enrollment, employee recognition events, employee parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Works effectively as a team member with peers, other department managers, staff, and administration.
  • Efficiently conducts background checks.
  • Conducts pre-employment drug screens and schedules random employee drug screens.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS, talent management systems, and other programs.
Experience:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of human resources experience.
  • Experience in healthcare preferred.
