Chambliss Center for Children is Hiring an Early Childhood Teacher Assistant - Overnight and Weekend Sub Near Chattanooga, TN
Chambliss Center for Children is looking for a PRN/Sub Teacher Assistants to work occasional nights or weekends in our Early Childhood Education Night Dismissal room. We provide 24/7/365 childcare for the community, for children up through age 12.
Work Schedule: Sub/PRN Nights (6pm-7am) or Weekends
Pay: Starts at $11/hour with a High School diploma and no prior child care experience; $13/hour with a CDA; $14.50 with an Associate's Degree. Rates increase with education and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the care of children when on duty, overnight or weekends.
- Supervises assigned group of children indoors and outdoors.
- Maintains an orderly classroom.
- Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with all staff, parents, and volunteers of the agency.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Lead Teacher and the Executive Director or Associate Directors of Extend Child Care.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a fingerprint background screening.
- Childcare experience required.
- Passion for working with children and families.

Chambliss Center for Children is a private, local non-profit organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dating back to 1872, the agency exists to preserve family unity and to help prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse, and delinquency of children by responding to the community's child care needs. We accomplish this through two major programs: 1. Extended Child Care: We offer early childhood education and child care to children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age. Parents must be working or in school to use our program, but their fees are based on income, making it affordable to everyone. A Three Star rating from the State gives us the highest quality program possible. We have five off-site child care programs, operating similar programs, without being open 24 hours. 2. Residential Care: We care for children who have been removed from their homes and are in the custody of the State of Tennessee. They have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or come through the juvenile court system. Children are primarily ages 6-18 and can either reside in our Shelter or in our foster homes throughout the city. The goal is to reunite the children with their families or to find a suitable adoptive placement. Our programs serve almost 700 children per day, of all races, ages, and economic backgrounds throughout the city.
