Champions In Motion specializes in teaching martial arts to youth ages 4-18. Our classes are held at various Parks & Recreation Centers, School Gyms, YMCA's, Sports Complexes, and other similar locations throughout North Carolina. Our class are typically held during evening hours on weekdays or mornings/early afternoon hours on Saturdays. We are currently seeking Martial Arts Instructors to begin training to take over our classes currently being held on Monday evenings at the Recreation Park Community Center in Wilson, NC.
Our Martial Arts Instructors are responsible for teaching kicks, punches, blocks, stances, self-defense, katas, weapon katas, sparring, and other martial arts/self-defense techniques and strategies. Instructors also teach safety awareness, stranger danger concepts, and proper ways to deal with bullies and other potentially dangerous confrontations. Other responsibilities include organizing/running belt testing/belt presentation ceremonies, registering new students, tracking student attendance, ordering/selling uniforms, sparring gear, and other equipment/merchandise, submitting class attendance/accounting reports, and other similar class support activities. Instructors are also asked to work periodically at tournaments, seminars, and other company supported events.
We provide in-person/on-site training for all of our new Instructors, as well a class curriculum to work from. However we do allow Instructors some level of freedom to implement other techniques and concepts specific to their background and expertise. We will provide all necessary equipment to be used in class for instruction, such as body shields, blockers, focus pads, etc.
Ideal candidates will hold a black belt (or equivalent rank) in a traditional Okinawan, Japanese, or Korean Martial Arts Style. Although Martial Artists of all styles and backgrounds will be considered and are encouraged to apply. We are also open to interviewing individuals with advanced belt ranks such as Red Belt or Brown Belt (or equivalent) that are close to being ready for Black Belt testing.
To be a successful Instructor with our company, you must have the patience and ability to teach and develop youth from ages 4 and older. We value high level teaching ability over high level martial arts skills...though we strive to find candidates with both of these attributes. Instructors will need to provide their own reliable transportation means to and from their class locations.
