A great painter is reliable and able to work safely with attention to detail, while also looking to improve the processes in place when needed. The ideal candidate has experience in painting and operating a forklift.
Responsibilities
- Paint metal weldments and assemblies
- Use drawings, specs and/or verbal instructions
- Exercise judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals
- Paint fabricated products as well as cut steel using industrial painting equipment
- Ability to check his/her own work
- Meet production deadlines
- Be flexible, time conscious and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision
- Work closely with shop management
- Other duties as assigned
- 1 year required; 3 years minimum preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Analytic skills
- Attention to detail
- TEAMWORK and communication skills are a must
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
- Work efficiently and independently with minimal guidance
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Experience in operation of a Forklift
- Experience in industrial painting
- Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually moderate to high.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing.
- Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty.
- At times, the ability to work overtime also MAY be required. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must abide by company safety policies, rules and regulations.
