Responsible for assisting walk-in customers at the masonry products store to include taking orders, providing estimates and quotes and handling special orders with vendors as appropriate.

• Process orders for masonry / hardscape products and materials from customers.
• Provide estimates and quotes for masonry products / hardscape and materials for customers.
• Coordinate special orders directly with Customer Service Manager.
• Assist customers with questions about location, availability and prices of ALL masonry products and materials.
• Operates cash register to complete sale with customer to include cash and credit sales.
• Maintain inventory of product specification and promotional materials.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in showroom as needed to include dusting of shelves, organizing stock, sweeping floors Open Store at @7 : 30AM.
• Assist with taking inventory of products as needed.
• Coordinate the efficient and safe delivery of products from plant to customer locations and branch locations.
• Receives customer order from order taker or telephone call.
• Probes customer for information to determine proper quantity, product, delivery time and job site location for each order.

• Suggests value-added products to customers to enhance product performance based on the nature of the customer’s job.
• Enters the customer order timely, accurately, and completely into the NetSuite System.
• Generates accurate and complete delivery tickets to the yard & / Or driver in a timely manner.
• Monitors truck status on a constant basis to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum equipment and labor utilization. (Making sure trucks are loaded to capacity.)
• Communicates with sales to get / give information regarding scheduling of plants and equipment to meet customer needs.
• Adjusts dispatch schedule as needed to reflect current and accurate information.
• Other duties as assigned by manager or another member of management
• Attend Product Information Seminars to expand knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Minimum 5 years of work experience in masonry products or construction related business of which at least 3 years should have been in retail and / or contractor sales.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Prefer AA degree in construction related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work with computers and basic Microsoft software including Excel, MSWord and Outlook. Data entry experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience working independently.
• Demonstrated experience of good written and oral / interpersonal communication skills.
• Prefer knowledge of Southside VA & Piedmont NC building market with some relationships established with contractors, developers and builders.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

• Frequent extended periods of standing and walking on a level concrete floor.
• Occasional periods of sitting in chair.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 94 lbs.
• Occasional / frequent bending, stooping, kneeling and climbing.
• Occasional reaching, grabbing, pulling and pushing.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT IS PROVIDED WHERE NECESSARY OR REQUESTED) :

• Majority of job duties are performed indoors in climate-controlled environment.
• Occasional exposure to extremes in temperature, moisture, dust and noise.'
