Job Location Chesapeake - Chesapeake, VA Education Level 4 Year Degree **Summary/Objective:**
The Regional Sales & Service Manager has overall responsibility for customer-facing departments, and employees in their assigned region. RSSM identifies, develops, sells, and services customers and markets. In addition to successful sales projects and planning, RSSM will manage day to day customer service, technical service, generation of new business, retainment of existing business and participate in public/community relations for assigned territories.
**Essential Functions:**
- Expand footprint and sales territory, technical and service staff accomplishments and competence by providing solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.
- Create high impact work team to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Services existing major accounts, obtains jobs, and establishes new major accounts by assisting, planning and organizing daily work schedule with sales team.
- Focuses sales efforts by studying inventories, market trends, competition and existing and potential account volume.
- Maintain and expand profit margins.
- Manage a robust CRM tool. Monitor the database for data quality and coach the sales team to follow the optimal process. Refine the CRM tool using best practices with constant improvement in mind.
- Keep CCO informed by reporting activity and results, maintain CRM tool: call logs, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual market analysis.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, level of service, and competition sales strategy.
- Manage all departmental expenses.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Creates and recommends efficient workflow and communication to facilitate departmental collaboration and team.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to CCO.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional associations.
- Create and attend memorable client entertaining experiences with long-term sales results.
- Participate in continuing education to be advanced in industry knowledge.
- Follow all appropriate safety regulations at job sites.
- Coordinate and complete special projects as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Work Environment:**
* Work time will be split between indoors/office and outdoors/field.
* Noise level will be moderate.
**Physical Demands:**
* Sit approximately 6 hours per day and walk or stand the other 2 hours per day.
* Must be able to transport oneself in and around assigned territories.
**Experience:**
* Experience working in Sales (5 years minimum) including contract review.
**Special Skills:**
* Written communication, verbal communication, and mathematical skills.
* Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Office.
* Ability to use the CRM (customer relationship management) software and Dispatch.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
**Certifications:**
* Valid Drivers License and Automobile Insurance.
* State certified for testing of materials (within 1 year of holding position).
**Industry Related Experience or Skills:**
* Background in concrete, construction, mining operations or building materials (preferred).
**Education Required:** High School
**Preferred Education:** College/Undergrad
**Bilingual in Spanish Preferred:** Yes
