Changing Perceptions is Hiring an Employment Specialist (Part- Time) Near Tucson, AZ

Days/Hours: Part time, M- F, flexibility a must.

License/Certification:

  • Must Driver's License

Experience:

  • Behavioral health: 5 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • Spanish (Preferred)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

  • Teaches and models skills necessary to perform job duties.
  • Coach clients on expected work attire and grooming.
  • Advocates for client to employers or client coworkers, identifying the client’s strengths, accommodations, and needs, when/if needed.
  • Help clients establish appropriate relationships with coworkers and employer.
  • With client input, develop goals and objectives for ongoing placement success and retention.
  • Regularly meet with employer and update client’s employment information such as job description, job tasks, salary, benefits, Union information (if applicable), and performance reviews.
  • Consistent communication with employer(s) to assure client is performing the job to employer specifications.
  • Regularly communicate progress and employment issues to client’s support team enlisting support from interdisciplinary team members for support.
  • Completes progress notes and reports and other documentation as required. Documents consistently and accurately all client activities
  • Attend required trainings, department, agency and general staff meetings
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities assigned
  • Spanish requires
  • Provide career coaching and guidance to individuals seeking employment or career advancement
  • Conduct interviews and assessments to determine clients' skills, interests, and goals

Develop personalized career plans and strategies for clients

  • Assist clients in identifying and applying for job opportunities
  • Educate clients on employment labor laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with employers to understand their hiring needs and connect them with qualified candidates
  • Provide workforce development training and resources to enhance clients' job readiness
  • Support individuals with developmental disabilities in their career exploration and employment goals
  • Mentor clients in areas such as social skills, professional etiquette, and workplace behavior
  • Collaborate with social workers and addiction counselors to provide comprehensive support to clients
  • Contribute to the development of training programs and materials for career development

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as social work, counseling, or human resources
- Proven experience in career coaching, recruiting, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations
- Familiarity with workforce development programs and resources
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
