Responsibilities 

• Technical: Development of our Android chat application, ensuring it’s efficient, scalable, and polished.
• Code Excellence: Write, review, and maintain high-performance Kotlin and Java code.
• Product Vision: Collaborate closely with the product, design, and engineering teams to influence product direction and functional requirements.
• Innovation: Stay updated with the latest Android development trends and technologies, ensuring our application always leverages the best available tools and practices.
• Mentoring: Foster a collaborative environment, guiding and mentoring junior developers, ensuring team-wide growth and cohesion. 
• [Bonus points] Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues to ensure the app runs smoothly across all relevant Android devices.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of professional software development experience, with 3 years in Android development experience.
• Extensive experience with Kotlin and Java.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing complex mobile applications with a user-centric approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with chat or messaging applications.
• Significant contributions to open-source Android projects or community.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
