We are seeking a skilled and experienced Health and Safety Training Manager to join our team and oversee the safety of our employees and facilities.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety and Training Manager to join our team at Channel Fish. The Safety and Training Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our employees and the compliance of our fish production facility with all relevant safety regulations. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs to ensure the safety and compliance of our workforce.
Key Responsibilities

• Safety Compliance:
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Collaborate with management to establish safety goals and objectives, and track progress towards achieving them.
• Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, PPE usage, emergency response procedures, etc.
• Training and Development:
• Assess training needs across various departments and roles within the facility.
• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee safety, productivity, and job satisfaction.
• Utilize a variety of training methods and techniques, including classroom instruction, on-the-job training, e-learning, etc.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics, and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in safety and training to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of our programs.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training activities, and compliance documentation.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management and regulatory agencies as needed.
• Assist with the development of safety and training budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field, preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
• Experience developing and delivering training programs, with a solid understanding of adult learning principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software applications.
