Purpose

The role of the Children’s Ministry Director is to multiply transformed followers of Jesus by ministering to children from birth through 5th grade and their families of Chapel Pointe in the context of high relational collaboration and accountability. This role requires a firm grasp of Chapel Pointe's beliefs, values, and strategy and the ability to align volunteers and key leadership teams with its vision. This person functions primarily in an administrative role and must be able to develop and assist in the implementation of a high-quality children’s ministry program. They must be a team player, and have the ability to recruit, train, inspire, lead, and equip volunteers of all ages. Additionally, they must have a strong understanding of curriculum development, scope & sequence, and alignment with Chapel Pointe’s values and beliefs.


Ministry Expectations

Strategic Leadership

  • Oversee vision, strategy, and alignment for the children's ministry leadership team.
  • Oversee curriculum, scope & sequence, and development for children's ministry to be implemented across multiple sites.
  • Oversee the Special Needs ministry for birth through 5th grade, including developing teams of people to minister to each child’s specific needs.
  • Oversee the follow-up process for new families on Sunday mornings at Chapel Pointe and its sites.
  • Resources campus pastors to ensure multi-site alignment of discipling tools and parent events with Chapel Pointe's overarching strategy.
  • Support team leads at each site in resourcing, coaching, and challenging volunteers to equip children to have an authentic relationship with Jesus in a safe, relational, and exciting environment.
  • Find ways to connect with parents to the spiritual growth of their children and foster their enthusiastic support of the ministry.
  • Intentionally mentor future leaders. Duplicating oneself in at least one other person.
  • Be an engaged, positive, and collaborative part of the Chapel Pointe team.
  • Ministry Development - Constantly recruiting, screening, scheduling, and leading teams (including, but not limited to, teachers, leaders, assistants, and worship leaders) of children's ministry team members.
  • Oversee the creation and writing of the children's ministry curriculum– including worship, large group, and small group instruction.
  • Collaborate with team leads in the creation of safe and secure environments that foster learning and pull through of lessons and the children's ministry Playbook.
  • Collaborate with the other ministry areas of Chapel Pointe.
  • Collaborate with team leads to develop multi-site policies and procedures that ensure the safe participation of children's ministry participants and volunteer leaders in programming at all sites.
  • Work with Student Ministry staff to ensure solid transitions between the ministries.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of ministry experience
  • Supervision experience
  • Multi-site experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required, seminary preferred

 

Salary : $39,400 - $53,400
