Description POSITION: Special Education Teacher Assistant QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or higher - Demonstrated ability to work with students of varying developmental levels JOB FUNCTIONS: - As directed by the teacher, provide instruction in the areas of early academics, K-12 academics, vocational and employment, self-care, life skills, and social emotional learning - Assist in preparation and organization of instructional materials - Implement behavior support plans for students with significant behavior challenges which can result in the student displaying physically aggressive behaviors towards self or others - Assist students in meeting their immediate self-care needs related to feeding, toileting, and hygiene - Implement strategies to support students with severe language impairments including modeling the use of assistive technology - Demonstrate the ability to keep all information regarding a student and their family confidential REPORTS TO: Principal, Char-Em ISD Special Education Programs DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: Until Filled CONTRACT LENGTH: 190 days annually, school year COMPENSATION: $17.21 hourly, Support Staff Rate Scale BENEFITS: Click to view benefit highlight
