Charles Products LLC is Hiring a Corporate Financial Controller Near Rockville, MD

The Controller at Charles Products is a hands-on leadership role where coaching the team and getting the work done are of equal importance.

The Role:

• Facilitate automation of manual processes. Set expectations and hold team accountable for producing accurate and timely work while providing internal service with a smile.

• Accurately prepare and review timely financial statements, working as a reporting partner to the CFO, providing financial information to leadership and the board to facilitate data driven decision making.

• Work in tandem with broader F&A concepts to share success, enhance the function, deliver high quality results, and provide exceptional internal client service.

• Lead by example, exhibiting the core values and coaching teammates to do the same.

• Driving toward the expectations of the board, improving outcomes by quarter, and month.

• Streamline and oversee the month end close process, significantly reducing the time to close.

• Establish and maintain shared services concepts in a surgical like implementation using integration best practices.

• Review, modify, and oversee the accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) functions.

• Support CFO in the Sales Compensation commission adjustments with analytics and timely reporting.

• Oversee reconciliation and direct adjustments to the health/dental/life policies.

• Lead audits and other compliance projects.

• Participate in the interviewing, selecting, and training of new accounting staff.

• Perform managerial tasks regularly and complete ad hoc projects as assigned or as necessary.

Our Needs…

• Strong understanding and proven application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• 7 years of corporate accounting experience including financial reporting

• 5 years in an accounting leadership role managing a team of varying skillsets

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a relevant field of study

• Highly aware of details and priorities while remaining focused on the big picture and strategy

• Willingness and agility to pivot as priorities change

• Passion for automation and improvement of manual processes

• Understanding of various legal entities and how multiple entities operate under different umbrellas

• Professional and concise communication skills (written, verbal, and non-verbal)

• Service focused attitude thriving on accountability, credibility, and trustworthiness

• Positive influencer of change, innovation, and problem solving

• Federal and state tax knowledge

• Professional maturity and managerial courage

• Relationship builder and business partner

• Solid computer skills including MS Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams
