Schwab’s Cybersecurity team is a first line of defense for Schwab. The Senior Manager of Cloud Security Engineering specializes in securing next-gen technology in the public cloud. You are a driven people leader with a deep passion to be an accelerator and change agent with the ability to build a security community and progressive Dev/SEC/Op’s culture.

You will be responsible for innovating, developing, and implementing groundbreaking capabilities to secure cloud and cloud-based workloads. You have expertise and experience in all three major Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) with both built-in native security controls and capabilities as well as third-party offerings on the market for securing cloud-native applications. This role requires expertise in the cybersecurity realm.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Supervising security measures for the protection of Cloud Infrastructure and integrations with experience in all three major CSPs
• Maintains, leads, and challenges the cloud security footprint to bring continuous advancement and maturity
• Assists IT operations and security owners to implement scalable security capabilities and processes in cloud-native applications
• Research and recommend new security technology capabilities and their applicability within the greater organization
• Experienced in being metrics driven with consistent advancement to shaping the organization’s security policies and standards for use in cloud environments
• Advising and influencing multi-disciplinary teams in implementing and operating Cyber Security controls
• An advocate for policy of code, security, and automation. Embracing IAC and the CICD/SDLC lifecycle towards all cloud activities
• Collaborating with application developers and database administrators to deliver creative solutions to difficult technology challenges and business requirements
• Applying adept understanding and experience with systems automation platforms and technologies

What you have

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
• 5 years of people management within cybersecurity
• 8 years of hands-on experience in network security, data security, etc.

Preferred:

• Experience in Cloud Security within the Financial Services sector
• Experience with native tooling in Public Cloud offerings as well as third party security controls
• Multiple certifications in cybersecurity and cloud cybersecurity highly preferred (CISSP-Certified Information Systems Security Professional, CCSP - Certified Cloud Security Professional, CISM - Certified Information Security Manager, CCSK - Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge)
