Charleston Surgical Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses Night shift 6:30 p.m. full-time and per diem positions available for an eight bed unit, minimum 2 years of experience required.
· Inpatient Unit- full time scheduled three-four 12 hour shifts, working or on call every other weekend.
· Performs and/or reviews the initial patient assessment upon admission and does continuing assessments thereafter, implementing and evaluating patient care, according to policy, using professional judgment to determine the physical, psychological, and social needs of the patient and documents this in the medical record.
· Demonstrates competency in technical and clinical skills.
· Administers medications by all acceptable routes, as ordered by the physician and according to accepted policy and procedure.
· Communicates effectively with co-workers, patients, visitors, and physicians.
· Communicates plan of care and patient needs effectively, in a multi-disciplinary fashion, to any and all involved persons and/or departments.
· Completely and accurately transcribes and carries out physician orders accurately and timely, seeks advice and direction appropriately.
· Anticipates teaching needs of each patient modifying, adopting, executing, and evaluating the plan on a regular basis.
· Develops a discharge plan, individualized to meet the needs of the patient and family.
· Assists physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
· Practices effective time management and displays strong organizational skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate school of nursing.
Licensed and current RN registration in the State of West Virginia.
CPR certification – BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
Charleston Surgical Hospital is located at 1306 Kanawha Bld. E and free parking available near Virginia Street entrance of facility.
