Overview:
We are seeking dynamic, dedicated piano instructors to join our faculty at Charlotte Academy of Music. If you have a passion for music education and are a skilled vocalist with teaching experience, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide piano lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students, inspiring a love for music.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student's needs and goals.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Regularly communicate with each student's parents/guardians regarding progress and goals.
  • If proficient in other instruments, offer lessons in those areas.
  • CAM faculty members have the opportunity to participate in other teaching opportunities such as workshops, master classes, and summer camps throughout the year.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field, or equivalent experience in teaching.
  • Proficiency in piano instruction with a strong understanding of music theory and how to prepare students for concerts and auditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

A minimum daily teaching schedule of at least 4 afterschool hours and a commitment of at least 12 months is required. Many of our instructors teach 5 hours several days per week. This position is flexible, allowing for 1-3 teaching days depending on the instructor's availability.

We offer competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience.

A phone interview will be arranged with qualified candidates, followed by an in-person interview with the owner.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
