General Definition of WorkThe technology finance administrator, under general supervision, provides financial and business process support for the technology division. In collaboration with the finance division, employee participates in annual operating, capital, and/or technology division budget preparation and administration to ensure compliance and responsible stewardship of funds. Employee performs coordinator-level work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related to technology finance management. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time. Essential Functions
Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
Provide day-to-day support of the financial operations of the technology division
Assist with the coordination of contract functions such as solicitations, proposal evaluation, negotiations, contract execution and administration
Monitor technology lease agreements
Implement policies and procedures related to contract administration, agreements, and procurement for the assigned division
Monitor expirations, deadlines, payment dates, etc. as it relates to the division's contracts and take action as required
Monitor and participate in the development and administration of the division budget
Approve all expenditures for the division, reviewing for compliance with federal, state, local, and grant laws, rules, and requirements
Research and determine costs for new programs and initiatives
Recommend increases, decreases and redirections in the annual budget process
Analyze the working budget for appropriateness of coding and spending
Advise the department leadership of budget problems, policies, and procedures
Compile, analyze, interpret, and report department budget status
Respond to inquiries from school system and department staff regarding budget issues
Facilitate meetings and attend other related meetings as needed/required
Performs related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public school system financial policies
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school system finances
Knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards regarding funding, position control, and allotments
Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress
Ability to reflect appropriate response to situations, while maintaining a professional and personal demeanor
Ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needs
Ability to prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions under leadership direction

Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associates' degree or minimum of three years' experience in budget, accounting or finance preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements
Possess and maintain a NC Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
