JOBDESCRIPTION:
Our Agency is dedicated to hiring people we can trust with our ownfamilies. Our PCA's deliver variouspersonal care and services in accordance with an established plan of care andprovides for the personal needs and comfort of patients in their homes.
Qualifications& Education:
oHigh School Diploma or GED required
o Evidence of sympathetic attitude toward elderly care
oDemonstrated ability to read, write and carry out directions.
oEvidence of maturity and ability to deal effectively with jobdemands.
oMust have good verbal and written communication skills.
oAttend eight (8) hours of personal care-oriented services peryear.
oParticipate in professional meetings when directed.
oAbility to work closely supervised to ensure competence in providingclient care.
oMust have a criminal history check conducted prior to beingoffered a position with the agency
Responsibilities:
oProvide personal hygiene assistance
oHelp clients take prescribed medication
oAssist clients with ambulation
oAssist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals
oComplete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
oPerform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
oAct quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
oOther duties as assigned
PhysicalDemands:
oSufficient visual and hearing ability to comprehend written andverbal communication.
Ability to:
oPerform tasks involving activity which may include heavy liftingand extensive bending and standing.
oDeal effectively with stress.
oWork assigned hours per week.
oBend and stand an average of six (6) hours per day.
oLift up to 50 pounds.
oWrite up to 3 hours per day.
oWork in a stressful environment.
oDrive up to 50 miles per day.
AdditionalRequirements:
oAssess and communicate with ill clients, co-workers and generalpublic.
oMust have a passion for caregiving and a desire to help others
oMust be neat in appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
oMust have a reliable means of transport.
o Must have CPR and First Aid certifications from a recognizedprovider.
